Three more Chinese experts will add to the starry line-up of columnists on DecanterChina.com, sharing their unique insights and expertise with increasingly sophisticated Chinese wine consumers.

The existing array of expert writers led by Prof LI Demei are to be joined by LU Yang, Fongyee Walker and Jennifer Docherty MW, who will each start a series of columns exclusively for DecanterChina.com.

Currently the most influential sommelier in China, LU Yang is Wine Director of Shangri-La International Hotel Management. In his new guest column, the veteran sommelier will talk about the boom in sommeliers as career options, in addition the latest trends in the on-trade market.

Fongyee Walker is an experienced wine educator and the founder of Dragon Phoenix Wine Consulting in Beijing, one of the most successful WSET education providers in China. As a MW student herself, Fongyee’s monthly column will provide Chinese students with invaluable study guidance.

Jennifer Docherty is buyer at UK wine merchant Liberty Wines and is the first ethnically Chinese and Mandarin-speaking Master of Wine. She will start her first biweekly column with DecanterChina.com by demystifying some complexities surrounding wine, helping Chinese wine lovers select a wider range of wines for their drinking pleasure.

Launched in 2012, DecanterChina.com publishes all its content in both simplified Chinese and English.

Through news stories, interviews and in-depth columns it closely follows the pulse of the Chinese market. The site has also compiled a rich wealth of wine glossaries, educational tips, introductions to producers, as well as detailed profiles of the key domestic educators and sommeliers in China.

A major upgrade to the site is planned to take place later this year. The new site is expected to become more accessible on mobile devices, and will feature more tailor-made content for fast-learning Chinese wine lovers.
