Have a Naughty Rosy Sunday - A Wine Afternoon with Budming

"The French believe that a rosé can go with any food". But one of the great appeals of rosés is that you do not have to take it too seriously. Few wines are both as beloved and belittled as rosé. Take them for granted or as not sophisticated at all would be a shame. Brush them out or flush them down just carelessly would miss out a lot.
Other than red and white, caught between the best of both worlds, not many people other than the French care about rosés. In Spanish “Rosado”, Italian “Rosato”, they all mean pink. The world knows Provence so nourished our dreams and sensual demands is the promised land of rosés, but historically famous Tavel AOC, just 10 miles southeast of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, must only produce rosés, and rosés only. Tavel wines, are reputed to have been a favourite of kings Philippe le Bel and Louis XIV, novelist Honoré de Balzac and writer Ernest Hemingway.
Rosés are not just champagne for the Valentine’s day. If you believe in paying attention to small, seemingly insignificant things. The quality of ingredients, no matter how humble, is crucial to the perception and enjoyment of a meal. That drinking wine is about enjoyment and palate could travel across a broader horizon, let’s have a cosy lazy afternoon together. Holding a glass of rosés, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Chateau Miraval Rosé from Provence, Tavel Rosé that even Robert Parker is a fan, and a Cava Rosado from “the Spanish Dom Perignon”, we can chill out and have a rosy afternoon on rosés."
