As a part of Château d’Issan’s annually summer exhibition series, twenty pieces entitled ‘D’ici et d’ailleurs (From here and there)’ - painted by Leng especially for the event - will be displayed at the property of Cruse family from 3rd June to 26th July 2013.

The Shanghai-born graduate of the Fine Arts Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy, Leng worked as a researcher and professor at the Chinese Painting Institute in his hometown before moving to Bordeaux and then Canada to explore Western arts in 1986. Leng later became a Canadian citizen.

From his education and experience in the different parts of the world, Leng developed a style in his paintings that bridges East and West.

This is not the fist time that a winery had built a relationship with Chinese art.

Château Mouton-Rothschild commissioned Chinese artists Gu Gan and Xu Lei for their 1996 and 2008 labels respectively.

In Tuscany, Italian winery Tenuta dell'Ornellaia also invited Chinese artist Zhang Huan to design the limited edition wine bottles for their 2009 vintage.
