Château Soutard
Grand Cru Classé

From Strength to Strength

Since 2006, work carried out in the vineyards and carefully adjusted vinification and ageing methods have resulted in improved quality. The 2007 vintage is dense and powerful, 2008 was a success, and despite the severe frost that devastated the vines, 2009 has confirmed that Soutard is going from strength to strength. 2010 vintage is magnificent, powerful and stylish. 2011 vintage appears as a precise and well balanced wine. And 2012 seems to go towards a wine filled with fruit, both roundness and freshness with its new grape variety.

The Château Soutard Style

The soil never lies, and Soutard wines bear the sublime hallmark of the Saint Émilion Plateau, an outstanding terroir. This pedigree produces wines that have an exquisite velvetiness on the palate, along with a freshness that keeps them poised despite their undeniable strength. Recent vintages at Soutard point to a wine of great purity, with a tense, frank fruitiness that makes for an elegantly refined result. Each Château Soutard wine expresses the French art of living.

Wine Tourism à La Carte

Château Soutard is firmly committed to opening its doors to the outside world, welcoming visitors, sharing a sense of French art de vivre, and showing people what a Bordeaux wine estate is really like: a thrilling prospect for anyone interested in wine.

Soutard’s ambition is to offer as much freedom as possible, with à la carte programmes enabling visitors to enjoy an unforgettable stay: by day or by night, in the vineyards, in the cellars, or in the kitchens learning how to prepare delicious château dishes and how to choose the right wine for the right food. Some visitors come with friends; others come to meet wine buffs; others still can enjoy a romantic break for two, or just a great day out with the family.

Designed as a natural extension of the Château, with its classic French-style ceilings and its carefully designed interior, the Orangery welcomes visitors who wish to linger for a while after their visit. Books on wine and a range of wine themed items are available for sale in the charming atmosphere of a conservatory. Wines from the estate are also on sale, and visitors can sample them along with delicious regional specialties.

The idea is to give visitors the opportunity to take their time, so that they can fully absorb the magic of the place.
